“I was able to shoot it high enough so it felt good,” Turner said of his game-winning 3-pointer against the Blazers. “I kind of prayed to make a big shot and it happened.”
His prayers were answered and for once a game-winning 3-pointer in a Blazers game wasn’t made by Damian Lillard.
I’m sure Boston fans also felt pretty good about Turner’s game-winner because the last time they saw one it was against them.
When asked if he likes taking big shots, Turner answered,
“Oh yeah, for sure. I like them even more when they go in. I’ve missed a couple this year, but I’m glad this one went in and most importantly I’m glad we won.”
The victory ended a 3-game losing streak for the Celtics and gave the Blazers their 5th loss in 6 games. To make things even worse for Portland, they received news last night that LaMarcus Aldridge would miss the next 6-8 weeks with a torn ligament in his thumb.
As a long-time Michigan fan, the first thing I thought of when I saw Turner hitting a game-winning 3 was this memory.
