Former Chicago Prep Star Jonathan Mills Fatally Shot
Former Chicago prep star Jonathan Mills, age 26, was fatally shot Monday afternoon outside a local laundromat in Chicago.
At North Lawndale College Prep, Mills was all-state and led the team to a Class 2A state championship in 2008 and a Public league title in 2009. He then went on to play college ball and became a 3rd Team All Conference player at Southern Miss. Mills then took his talents overseas and most recently had a stint with the Chicago Fury of the Midwest Basketball League.
“He had just called us to make sure he could get into the gym this week,” North Lawndale assistant coach Terrence Redmond said to the Chicago Sun Times. “He had been rehabbing from an ankle injury the past year. He’s the kind of guy that plays basketball literally every day. He wanted to get back overseas and play, almost everything he does is for his daughters.”
