The free agency frenzy will start at 12:01 am on Wednesday, which is also past Coach Gregg Popovich’s bedtime and he doesn’t plan on losing any beauty sleep over a free agent.
“I’m not calling anyone at midnight,” Popovich told the San Antonio Express-News. “I’ll be in bed. And if that’s the difference in someone coming or not coming, then I don’t want them.”
So if LaMarcus Aldridge gets a call at 2 am it’s either a booty call or a rep from another NBA team.
Coach Pop also doesn’t have to lose any sleep over Kawhi Leonard. Yahoo is reporting the 2014 NBA Finals MVP has agreed to a framework of a 5-year deal worth in excess of $90 million.
