It was only fitting on a night when one of the best shot blockers of all-time, former Heat & Hornet Alonzo Mourning, was honored, the Heat’s Hassan Whiteside would put up a triple double (10/10/10 in 27 minutes) against the Hornets.

“Whiteside just dominated every aspect of that game,” Hornets coach Steve Clifford said. “Right now, he’s the premiere rim protector in the league. It changed the game when he came in; they were a totally different team when he was out there.”

Whiteside also had one of the nastiest catch-in-the-air blocks I’ve ever seen.

“When a ball is around my elbow area, I’m going to try and catch it.” said Whiteside.
