The frustration Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks were feeling in the final minutes of their 73-96 loss to the Heat was understandable. After only scoring 14 points in the 3rd quarter, they were outscored 29-11 in the 4th. One of the big reasons for their offensive struggles was the defense of Miami big man Hassan Whiteside, who went off for 12 points, 17 rebounds, 7 blocks and 2 steals in just 29 minutes; 10 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks came in the 2nd half!
With about two minutes left in regulation, Whiteside grabbed his 16th board and before he could go up for an easy dunk, the Greek Freak hit him with 3-slap combo to prevent him from scoring. The frustration Whiteside felt was understandable too. He’s a poor free throw shooter and he’s getting hacked when the other team is down by 15, which again, is more points than the team scored in the entire previous period.
Whiteside missed 1 of the 2 free throws and the Bucks failed to score in the final two minutes.
