Houston Rockets Blacktop Battle Tournament | Sir Isaac Defends Dunk Title

Published on March 27th, 2012 by Astramskas, David | 2,498 views

If you are in Houston this weekend you need to check out the Rockets Blacktop Battle.  With 40 courts & 350 teams playing 3 on 3 basketball on the streets outside the Toyota Center it’s going to be hoop heaven in Houston.

Since I’m not a player, my favorite moment each year is to see what new dunks Sir Isaac will come up with in the dunk contest.  Issac is an H-Town dunk legend with a fan club that includes Steve Francis, Bun-B and Air Up There and an online sensation after his “one of the highest jumpers in the world” video was featured on WorldStar and accumulated over half a million views & 17K Facebook likes in just a couple of weeks.

Last year Isaac put on one of the best dunk exhibitions I have ever seen and I work on the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown tour.  The following is video proof although the video looks like it was videotaped on a 1990 camcorder then transferred to VHS on an EP tape and then digitized as a low quality WMV file before being uploaded to YouTube before they allowed HD video.

Read more about the event below and if you are going, make sure you come up and say what’s up.  I’ll be the guy in the red Ballilisfe shirt!
