It’s hard to look cool after getting posterized, but there’s things you can or can’t do that will get you some redemption points. But this also depends on where the dunk happened.
For examples, if you are dunked on at Rucker Park or in some streetball game, then there’s a good chance they are going to stop the game and clown you and might even make you leave the court so there’s nothing you can do to come out looking cool. If you are dunked on in an “organized” game, then there’s a good chance you can just walk away and if the player tries to get in your face about it, then he will probably get hit with a tech.
This morning I saw this dunk (above) by Dominique Lee that left a defender on the ground. Instead of getting up, he just sat there like a Prozac user contemplating suicide. That is how NOT to look after getting dunked on!
Now let’s take a look at this guy that was dunked on by Ballup player G-Smith (who seems to posterize somebody every week). This IS how to look cool after getting dunked on…or about as cool as you can look after getting dunked on!
Hmmmm, this is kind of fun. I might have to make a list of my favorite post dunk reactions starting off with this one.
To be continued…
