Our favorite rapper in the league and long time Ballislife supporter might have finally booked his ticket out of the Big Apple.  Iman Shumpert has been in the owner’s dog house and on the trading block for months and during yesterday’s 9th straight loss for the Knicks, Shump went off on Carmelo Anthony and his defensive efforts during a timeout which lead to him being replaced by Tim Hardaway Jr who made the most out of his minutes with 21 points.

After the game, Shumpert called his interaction with Carmelo Anthony “a miscommunication” about defense and Mike Woodson went off saying “We had so many breakdowns again on the ball defense. We are not taking pride in guarding. I’ve got to find some identity with this team. Somehow we have to get this monkey off our back.”

I’m not sure how they are going to get that “monkey” off their backs but I do see them making some roster changes by the trade deadline and none of those changes are going to include the face of the franchise. I’m still a big believer in Shumpert’s game and willing to bet the team that ends up with him is going to be a lot happier than James Dolan and Mike Woodson are right now.
