With a little more than three minutes left in regulation, Justise Winslow came up with a nasty rejection on Marcus Smart and then went to guard Isaiah Thomas, who dropped Winslow to the ground with an elbow to the face that left the defensive wiz with a nasty bloody cut under his eye.
The refs hit Thomas with an offensive foul, then after review, upgraded it to a flagrant foul type 2, which resulted in an ejection.
Winslow – looking like Creed – missed both of his free throws, then stole the ball from Avery Bradley and dished it to Josh Richardson for a bucket. The Heat still lost by 10 but Winslow’s effort on defense during this sequence deserves a lot of praise. He finished the game with 4 steals and a block to go with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
I’m not laughing at the elbow but the expressions of the fans in the below pic are pretty hilarious.
