Jahlil Okafor vs. Cliff Alexander: Enjoy this Official recap video from the EPIC Chicago Public title game between #1 Curie and #2 Whitney Young HS at Chicago State. In front of nearly 8,000 supporters Curie HS attempted to win its first ever Public League title behind Kansas bound Cliff Alexander and the Stamps brothers vs defending Chicago champs Whitney Young. Young is led by Duke bound Jahlil Okafor (consensus #1 player in USA) and fellow seniors Paul White (Georgetown) and Miles Reynolds (SLU).
It was a classic! 3 hours later, Curie won 69-66 on a corner 3 by reserve Kamar Marshall in the 4th OT.
Cliff Alexander finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Joseph Stamps led Curie (24-1) with 24 points (15 in 1st quarter).
After playing just 4 minutes in the second half, Jahlil Okafor fouled out with 2:13 to play in the fourth quarter. He finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Paul White scored 19 and grabbed eight rebounds for Young (21-6).
Miles Reynolds scored 13, including a turnaround jumper at the buzzer in regulation to send the crowd (including the mayor) into a frenzy and the game into the first overtime.
