I knew Jamal Crawford was going to have a big game against the Nuggets on Monday night. It was the 8th anniversary of his career-high 52 point game against the Heat and earlier in the day Crawford and Dorrell Wright were joking about the game on Twitter. Wright wrote “coach put me in when he had 48, cold world lol.” But the coldest thing about the match-up was Crawford scoring his last 2 buckets on Wright. Crawford replied with a LOL of his own and I said to myself I bet Crawford is going to go off tonight even though he was in a bit of a shooting slump.
After three quarters and just 2 points I was thinking I couldn’t have been more wrong and I guess Crawford’s slump was going to continue.
But then it happened. Jamal Crawford got hot and scored 21 points in the 4th quarter to lead the Clippers to a comeback victory.
“He was huge,” Griffin said about Crawford who scored the final 5 points for the Clips. “His scoring was unbelievable and it can come in a flash. That’s what he does for us.”
He was even telling his teammates during time-outs that they were going to pull off a win.
“He was guaranteeing it,” coach Doc Rivers said.
“I always have belief.” said Crawford.
So do I Jamal and so does DeAndre…
