The Clippers took on the Thunder Thursday night without starters Chris Paul, J.J Redick and DeAndre Jordan and almost pulled off a victory, thanks to the play of Austin Rivers and Jamal “age ain’t nothing but a number” Crawford.
Rivers and Crawford each scored a game-high (& career-high for Rivers) 32, while Crawford also had a team-high 7 assists and 5 3-pointers in the 2-point loss. After 1 of those 5 3s by Crawford, the great Marv Albert said something that I thought was a little disrespectful to the man who was dropping 50 point games, game-winners and deep 3s long before Steph Curry was even in the league.
“These are Steph Curry distance shots being put up there by Jamal Crawford “
Look, it’s a fact that nobody in the league right now is taking and making deep 3s like Steph Curry but guys were making them long before him and will be making them long after; Crawford was in the league almost a decade before Steph and at the rate he’s playing, he just might be here as long as Steph. And when he’s not, like Marv’s partner Chris Webber said, “He can be 60 and doing this in a YMCA legue.”
