It was a great day to be a Rockets fan this weekend. The annual Houston Rockets Blacktop Battle went down on Saturday and Sunday where hundreds of 3-on-3 teams competed and hoop fans along with James Harden, Chandler Parsons, Patrick Beverly and other Rockets got to judge a wild dunk contest won by “H-Town’s Finest Dunker” Sir Isaac for the 4th straight year.
To cap off the weekend, those fans and players got to celebrate an OT victory over the Portland Trailblazers behind James Harden’s 41 points.
The Beard scored 17 of his 41 in the 4th quarter and also grabbed 10 boards and connected on 7 3-pointers.
“The first three quarters we were basically just out there running around,” Harden said. “The last quarter we got more physical and created some opportunities for our defense.”
The struggling Lin also showed up and scored his first 20 point game (26) since last year.
