Even though the Rockets had a 7 point lead at the half against the Curry-less Warriors in Houston, former Houston Rocket Charles Barkley guaranteed the Rockets and their “fake hustle” were going to lose the game. He even thought they were going to lose by 10 and would be vacationing in Cancun by the end of the weekend. Those statements didn’t sit well with Rockets CEO Tad Brown who took a shot at Barkley during his final 4 years in the league.

And with 2.7 seconds left in a wild final minute of regulation, James Harden took and made a game winning shot to make Barkley eat his words.

“The last shot was typical of what James does,” coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “The move, we’ve seen before. The finish, we’ve seen before. You do get spoiled by it at times, but in these biggest of moments, you can’t help but appreciate it.”

Harden also had 9 assists and 8 boards while Dwight Howard (13 & 13) and Motiejunas (14 & 13) stepped up with double doubles.

Draymond Green had a chance at making a game-winning play but dribbled the ball of his foot on the final inbound.

“I cost us the game,” Green said. “The world will think I’m talking about that last turnover but I’m not. That happens. I was awful the whole game. I care about that turnover, but I cost us the game way before then.”
