Jarrett Jack finished with 31 points and recorded 10 assists to help the Cleveland Cavaliers pull out the close victory against the New York Knicks, 106-100. The Cavaliers had an impressive game shooting the ball, finishing 42-69 (60.9%) from the field, including 9-18 (50.0%) from beyond the arc. Cleveland (27-44) has won just three of its last 10 games.

Jack went 13-19 from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line, in a solid outing. Dion Waiters also chipped in for Cleveland, finishing with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony had another quality performance for New York despite the loss, putting up 32 points on 8-20 shooting (4-9 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 12-12 from the free throw line. He also tallied 8 rebounds. Raymond Felton added 14 points and 8 assists and Amare Stoudemire finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Along with their eFG% of 67.4%, the Cavaliers connected at a rate of 50.0% from 3-point range. On the season, they are undefeated (4-0) when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Knicks are 4-11 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.

This defeat means an end to an eight-game winning streak for New York, pushing their record to 29-41 for the year.

Coming up, the Cavaliers battle the Toronto Raptors, who are 39-30 on the season. The Knicks go up against the Los Angeles Lakers, currently sitting at 22-46 this year. The Cavaliers came up short against Toronto each of the last two times they’ve met. The Knicks are 1-0 versus Los Angeles this season.
