Although I was a Florida State Seminole in the late 90s, when Jason Williams transferred to the University of Florida for a season, I became a closet Gator Basketball fan during his short career in Gainesville.  Once he left for the NBA I was able to go back to hating the Gators but I also hated that it took 7 years until “White Chocolate” played for another Florida team.  That team was the Heat but the Williams that was playing in Miami between 2005-2008 looked like a shell of the exciting playmaker from the Cowbell days of Sacramento and in the summer of 2008, Williams announced his retirement.   It would be a short one as he returned to the NBA as a member of the Orlando Magic the next year.  After a decent 1st season with the Magic, Williams fell to fourth in the point guard rotation and played just 16 games during his 2nd season in Orlando before being waived.  Williams soon retired a second time and over the past couple of years has been dazzling international basketball fans with the NBA Legends tours.

This past Summer, Home Team Hoops was on hand at the Orlando Pro-Am to capture the dazzling return of Jason Williams to the Magic Kingdom where he showed he can still run and gun with current NBA players such as Chandler Parsons, Courtney Lee, Austin Rivers, Marquis Daniels, Eric Griffin, Chris Walker and Nick Calathes.
