5 years ago, LeBron James celebrated his 25th birthday by dropping 48 points and 10 rebounds on the Atlanta Hawks. Last night, LeBron celebrated his 30th birthday by watching the Hawks get revenge as Jeff Teague dropped Matthew Dellavedova to the floor and dropped 23 points and 11 assists against the Cavs in an 8 point win for the Hawks.
Kyrie Irving did everything he could to give LeBron and the Cavs a win by dropping a game-high 35 points to go with a team-high 9 assists but with Love going 1 for 8, Dion Waiters 3 for 10, starter Mike Miller getting a donut and starter Matthew Dellavedova scoring just 6 points on a broken ankle, it was surprising the game was as close as it was.
“I had to be aggressive; we had some guys down,” Irving said. “I just kept shooting. … We gave ourselves a chance to win. We just couldn’t get over the hump.”
LeBron now has a 3-4 record in the NBA on his birthday (3-3 in games he played in).
