Jimmy Butler isn’t exactly known for his leaping ability but according to The Post Game, it looks like Butler is doing some serious off the court work to improve his hops and explosiveness.
“He’s training so he can still be explosive in the fourth quarter,” his trainer Travelle Gaines says.
If Butler performing a 50″ box jump wasn’t impressive enough, TPG said this was after completing five sets of heavy squats and five sets of heavy cleans.
“He’s here at 5 a.m., and then he works on the court with his skills guy, and then he studies film. He works out all day to get into the best shape possible.”
If you enjoy watching athletes do box jumps then you should love this video of Houston Texan JJ Watt pulling off an insane 61″ box jump this past summer.
