If LeBron is the “King of the Chase Down Block” then John Wall is the Fresh Prince of it. Early on in Saturday night’s victory over the Nets, Wall pinned Marcus Thornton’s layup against the glass and then started to do some damage on the offensive side. Wall scored a game high 33 points on 10 of 15 shooting including 4 of 6 from downtown and 9 of 10 from the line. He also had 6 assists and got some major assistance from the newly signed Drew Gooden who went off in the 4th quarter, scoring 11 of his 21 points.
“You guys joke about me being old, but I’m still Drew Gooden,” the 32-year-old said. “And that’s what I do. Once I see a couple going in I feel like I can’t miss. Tonight the ball was definitely on my side and it dropped for me tonight.”
After some big shots by Gooden, Wall put the nail in the coffin in the final minute with a steal and dunk.
