Orlando Magic’s 6th pick Jonathan Isaac bounced back from a rough 2 for 10 shooting performance in his first summer league game by knocking down 7 of 12 shots for a team-high 15 points in the Magic’s 81-68 win over the Heat on Sunday. The 19-year old forward also grabbed a game-high 13 boards — five offensive, including a nice putback dunk on a missed three — to go with one steal and one block in 22 minutes. He missed his pair of three-point attempts but his mid-range shot looked great.
“Just like anything, the more you do it, the more relaxed and comfortable you get with it,” Isaac said to the Orlando Sentinel.
His defense also contributed to Heat rookie Bam Adebabyo missing 12 of his 16 shots.
The only negative about Isaac’s game on Sunday was for the second game in a row he asked to be taken out after a couple of minutes. Hopefully, by the end of the summer his 6’10, 210 pound body will be able to handle more minutes without getting tired.
