JR Smith has been playing the role of Santa so far for this preseason.  Last week he won $30k for a military member and gave away his sneakers to a lucky fan (not wearing a Warriors jersey) and on Monday night, during a game against the Grizzlies, the sidelined Smith bought some cotton candy for himself and Dash Day – the son of pro golfer Jason Day.  Smith and Jason Day are friends as Smith is an avid golfer and Day is a big Cavs fans.

“I wasn’t aware of that,” Blatt said when asked about Smith’s cotton candy purchase. “You know, I’m going to use one of those lines that you always use when there’s something that happens. The team’s immediate response is: We are gathering further information and we will respond accordingly. I’m going to lay my hat on that one, if I may.”
