Last season, David Stern got a little concerned over the Knicks and Nets beef and sat down with owners James Dolan and Mikhail Prokhorov to tell them he didn’t care for the MC Shan (Queensbridge) and BDP (South Bronx) beef and doesn’t care for a New York vs Brooklyn NBA beef either.

Earlier this month, Brooklyn’s Paul Pierce went old school hip hop and threw some shots at the Knicks on the radio.

“Everybody knows how much I disliked the Knicks when I was with the Celtics, but I think it’s grown to another level,” Pierce said on ESPN NewYork 98.7 FM. “I think it’s time for the Nets to start running this city.”

One New Yorker that took offense was NY Knick JR Smith who had the following opinion about The Truth.

“I just look at him as a bitter person just getting out of Boston. He doesn’t really know what New York is all about. He’s been playing in Boston his whole career. He just knows, just know that his words have consequences and he’s going to have to pay for them.”

The beef became a bigger concern for Stern after JR Smith said he was “100 percent sure” that the Knicks would win a championship this season which earned a “lol” from Reggie Evans on Twitter and some amusing comments by known trash talker Jason Terry during an interview with Dime Magazine.

“Maybe the Rucker Park Championship. I don’t know, not the NBA championship. I don’t see how they could guarantee that, at all.”

What makes Terry’s comments so amusing is Terry is the same guy that got a Celtics Championship tattoo when he went to Boston and is on record saying the Brooklyn Nets have a championship team.

“There’s something in the air here that says the Brooklyn Nets will be the NBA champions next year.”

December 5th, 2013 – Brooklyn. Put it on your calendar folks!
