“Does Kobe really spazz out?”
Injured Lakers’ rookie Julius Randle laughed and talked to reporters about one of his Kentucky teammates asking him that question this past weekend. His reply was “no he’s just competitive.”
Before the season started, Kobe took a special interest in Randle, who grew up a Kobe fan, and was extra tough on the 19 year old. Kobe got on Randle for “hiding in certain lines” during conditioning drills in practice and even told him “If you fuck this up, you’re a really big idiot. ESPN are idiots, but you’re really a big idiot if you manage to fuck this up” referring to Randle’s opportunity with the Lakers.
Unfortunately Randle’s season got off to a bad start when he broke his right tibia in his NBA debut. But from the sights and sounds of his latest interview, Randle looked like he was in good spirits and sounds optimistic.
