Karl-Anthony Towns Dominates Jazz, Says He “Played Like Crap”

If you just look at the boxscore of the Wovles and Jazz game on Friday, you would say leading rookie of the year candidate Karl-Anthony Towns had another great performance: 32 points (13-17 fg, 1-2 3pt, 5-5 ft) and 12 rebounds. If you ask him how he played in the loss, you will get a different story.

“I played like crap today,” said Towns, who became the youngest player to pull of a 30 & 15 game since Kevin Durant in 2008. “I didn’t play well defensively. Offensively, I was just finding spots. My teammates were the ones that got me points. I didn’t get myself points.

“When I tried to make something for myself I was missing layups, missing shots. My teammates are the ones that made the stat sheet. I didn’t.”

KAT is averaging 23 points and 13 rebounds over his last 6 games while shooting 67% from the field. He’s never going to win rookie of the year, become an all-star or an all-nba player with those crappy numbers.
