According to the official boxscore from the Spurs and Nuggets game on Thusrday, Kawhi Leonard had 0 steals to go with his 24 points, 6 boards and 5 assists in 36 minutes. I watched the game and I can tell you the master thief had the steal of the night. It happened early in the third quarter when he took the ball out of teammate Pau (flopping) Gasol’s hands, took on two defenders, came close to travelling, scored and then had the nerve to ask for and-one!
The amusing play reminds me of the time Matt Bonner took the ball from Tony Parker then called an isolation play. After that game, a joking Coach Pop said, “Matty will never get a call for (an isolation or) anything ever while I’m here.”
Back to Kawhi, here’s the rest of his highlights from the 127-99 beatdown on the Nuggets.
