I remember watching Kenyon Martin go off for 35 points and 11 boards in Game 4 of the 2002 NBA Finals and thinking I hope he ends up with a championship one day. The former #1 pick and All-Star never got one during his underrated NBA career, but on Saturday, I did get to see him win a championship in another pro league: Martin, along with Team Trilogy teammates Al Harrington, James White, Dion Glover and Rashad McCants were winners of the first Big3 Championship.
Big 3 #1 draft pick Rashad McCants scored a game-high 22 points, including the team’s final five points against Team Three-Headed Monsters big3and was awarded the first Big3 Championship MVP.
Team Trilogy also finished the season with a perfect 10-0 record and will remain together for season 2, which will probably have a lot of familiar new faces joining the better-than-expected league.
