Kevin Durant Returns to Seattle; Drops 63 Points in JC Pro Am

Published on August 12th, 2013 by Arek | 24,348 views

Kevin Durant returned to Seattle for the first time since the Sonics left for Oklahoma in 2008 to play in the Jamal Crawford Pro Am and he put on an absolute show against Jamal Crawford and co!

KD finished the game with 63 points and almost had a storybook ending but missed a mid range jumper over Martell Webster at the end of regulation.  His team would end up losing 147-141 in OT but the crowd didn’t care if he won or lost the game or that he only made 26 of 62 shots (8-32 from 3).  The 3,000 fans in the gym were just happy to see the last great Sonic back in Seattle and the feeling was mutual from KD.

I just want to say I miss you guys,” said Durant to the crowd. “Thank you for the warm welcome. I can’t wait to come back.

Shortly after signing as many autographs as he could while trying to leave the gym, he tweeted

Jamal Crawford finished with 46 points and also talked about Durant’s love for the city.

He loves Seattle. He took his own jet. He spent a lot of money to come up here and perform in front of you guys.

Also playing in the game were Martell Webster, Spencer Hawes, Will Conroy and many more of Seattle’s top basketball talent. Look out for more footage of the entire weekend!
