After 12 seasons in the NBA, 33-year old Kevin Martin is hanging up his NBA sneakers. The owner of the one of the ugliest (but effective) shots in NBA history announced his retirement, along with a $100k donation to sporting fields around his high school, in Thursday’s edition of the Zanesville Times Recorder.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. There’s not a more perfect day for me to express those feelings. There are so many ways to announce your after professional career plans. My family and close friends have known since June of the direction I wanted my life to go. Those were the toughest conversations that I have ever had but with the ultimate support I knew I was making the right decision.

In honor of Martin, let’s look back at some memorable moments, starting with the time he scored 37 points (17 in the 4th) against the Lakers in 2015.

37 POINTS VS THE LAKERS

Martin: 37 points, 14-27 fg, 6-9 3pt, 3-3 ft

50 POINTS VS THE WARRIORS

Martin: 50 points, 11-22 fg, 5-11 3pt, 23-26 ft

37 POINTS (7 3PTS) VS THE KNICKS

HIS BEST DUNK
