WARNING: The video above is not for the faint of heart and it’s as sad as it is painful to watch.

With a little more than 6 minutes left in the first half, Cardinal’s Kevin Ware jumped in the air to contest a 3 pointer and landed horribly wrong which resulted in his leg breaking 6 inches out of his skin.

The game was delayed for a very emotional 7 minutes as everybody on the court went into shock after seeing what happened to Ware.  Surprisingly Ware was able to gather himself and according to reporter Tracy Wolfson,  Ware told his teammates,

“Don’t worry about me. I’ll be OK. You guys go win this thing.”

before leaving on a stretcher to be taken to the IU Health Methodist Hospital.  Ware had successful surgery and Louisville defeated Duke and will be  heading to Atlanta.

Please get well Kevin and good luck to the Cardinals!  #WinForWare #PrayForWare
