“I’m hurting,” said Bryant who missed 9 of his 13 shots in the first half against the Kings. “At halftime, I just lay down and try to put myself mentally in a place where I just block it out and come out and play.”

Luckily for the Lakers Bryant turned it on the 2nd half and scored 9 of  32 points in the final 3 minutes and 14 seconds of the 98-95 victory for the Lakers.

“Sometimes you’re going to have to win games that are ugly,” Coach Byron Scott said. “We didn’t exactly make shots on a consistent basis, but we made big shots when we had to.”
