Kobe Bryant is currently in China promoting Nike, making grown men cry, posting bikini pics of his wife, spreading optimistic messages and talking about his battle scars and how he’s “shattering the recovery timetable” for coming back from an Achilles injury.
”We all have those moments when we think we won’t be able to make it. I certainly had those. I accept those thoughts and let them consume me. And then they become the challenge to myself. You can actually do more and be more than you thought you could be.” – via Kobe Bryant, China – Weibo
I can just picture Kobe one day sitting around with a bunch of other ex players, like David Lee (below), and showing “battle scars” and telling the stories behind them like this great scene from Jaws.

There’s also this classic and not so G-rated “battle scar” scene from Kevin Smith’s 90’s film Chasing Amy that’s worth a look although I don’t think you will ever see a bunch of NBA players re-enacting this scene except maybe Darryl Dawkins (you will have to read his autobiography to understand why).
