During Ernie Johnson’s interview with Kobe Bryant on Inside the NBA, EJ asked Kobe how many 40-point games he’s had during his career. I wasn’t expecting Kobe to know the exact number but he answered with “30 & 40,” which is pretty ridiculous considering he once had a 9-game streak of 40+ games and 4 of 50+. The correct answer was 121.
“I didn’t go to college,” joked Kobe when he was told the answer. “See what happens.”
The total number of 40-point games for the entire NBA on TNT crew, which includes great likes Shaq, Reggie Miller, Isiah Thomas and Charles Barkley along with All-stars Chris Webber, Grant Hill and Steve Smith, is only 104! Of those guys, Kobe’s former teammate, Shaq, had the most at 49.
In honor of Kobe having no idea (I think Kobe was lying) how many 40-point games he’s had, here’s proof of a bunch of them.
