The 1998 NBA All-Star game is remembered for mainly three things:
#1: It was Michael Jordan’s last NBA All-Star game as a Chicago Bull and before his second retirement.
He didn’t disappoint either. Jordan put on a show for the MSG crowd and won his third All-Star MVP award after scoring 23 points, dishing out 8 assists, grabbing 6 boards and 3 steals.
#2: It was Kobe’s Bryant’s first NBA All-Star game.
At age 19, Kobe became the youngest All-Star starter in NBA history and scored 18 points and grabbed 6 boards for the losing West team, which also included his LA teammates Shaq, Nick Vane Exel and Eddie Jones.
#3: Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant going at each other.
