I'm not sure what was going on but then again it was directed by hit or miss director Tarsem that made a bunch of head scratching films including The Cell, The Fall and the recent family film Mirror Mirror.  Realizing there's more money in light hearted entertainment then surrealism and gore, the hired gun directed this head scratching commercial with Kobe driving a Smart car around with an Asian kid dressed as a peanut.
