“This is probably the first game in a while where K.B. was dead serious for the whole game,” said Coach Scott after Kobe Bryant scored 34 points in his final game against the Celtics. “He understands it’s serious.
“If you guys were watching his body language, watching his facial expressions, he wasn’t joking around tonight. He wasn’t smiling with other opponents. He wasn’t talking a lot.”
He wasn’t talking a lot but he did put up a lot in a losing effort. Kobe scored 34 points, his first 30 point game in 2 months and 4th of his farewell season. It’s also the 2nd highest of the 4 and came with a few crowd pleasing shots including this deep 3.
“It’s weird, the last time I’m facing that green,” Bryant said after his 44th game against the Lakers rival. “It’s been a joy to go against them, to be a part of a rivalry that I’ve watched for so long.”
It would have been great to see one of the greatest Lakers of all-time beat Boston in his final game against them, but he still has plenty of other great memories against the franchise, in particular ones from 2010.
