Always late to adopting social media networks, Kobe Bryant officially joined the Twitterverse on January 4th, 9:13 AM PST, to be exact. He was already active on Facebook with his 15 million likes but wasn’t reaching much of his younger demographic. 359 Tweets and 1 new nickname (Vino) later, he’s nearing 2 million followers on Twitter. During that time he also gained another million Facebook likes and after suffering his season ending injury on Friday night, he took to Facebook to release a venting letter to his fans.
On Saturday, Kobe and his wife went to the hospital for a MRI and he decided to follow his wife and join Instagram to track his new journey via visuals. 24 hours and 2 photos later he’s nearing 300k followers with over 160k likes and 17k comments.
His wife, an Instagram vet, also posted a pic of her and Kobe yesterday. So what if she wasn’t with him shooting in the gym; she’s with and supporting him at the hospital.
Be sure to follow Kobe & Vanesssa over the next 6-9 months to chronicle Kobe’s path to recovery.
