Listen to the crowd at MSG!
Remember on draft night when Stephen A. Smith, actor Michael Rapaport and a lot of Knicks fans were pissed at the Knicks for drafting Kristaps Porzingis?
“I have to do everything that’s in my hands to turn those booing fans into clapping fans,” Porzingis said on that night. “I want to be a part of this organization, and I know the fans are a little harsh sometimes. But that’s how it is here in New York, and I’m ready for it.”
So far after 2 games, Kristaps has converted a lot of those booing fans into clapping ones and on Thursday night, playing in his first regular season game at MSG, he had the home crowd cheering the way they used to for Linsanity when he pulled off a nice steal/spin/slam move against the Hawks. He also almost pulled off his first double double with 10 points and 8 rebounds to go with 3 steals after putting up 16 points and 5 boards in his NBA debut.
