The Cavs held their annual Wine and Gold Scrimmage on Sunday with the Cavs starters (minus LeBron) taking on a Gold team made up of bench players (Birdman, Kay Felder, Jordan McRae, Frye and Dunleavy). The highlight of the night came from the Wine team’s Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert, when they hooked up on this off the backboard oop.

“It was good to see Iman make a dunk,” Coach Lue joked. “He’s missed a lot. He’s the most athletic guy I know who misses so many dunks. It was a great play. I’m happy for Iman.”

Irving was equally happy for Shumpert.

“I’m just glad to see him out there at full strength,” said Irving. “He looks incredible right now. He shed about five pounds and is just pure muscle right now and he looks really good. I’m proud of him for what he did this summer and what he accomplished.”

This is a little off-topic but always worth watching again, here’s Shumpert’s cameo with his wife in Kanye’s latest video.

Back to the game, Mike Dunleavy was the star of it, playing for both teams, and finishing with a game-high 14 points in 25 minutes.

“We knew he could make open shots,” Lue said. “Last year he shot 52 percent from 3 on open shots. We knew he could make shots, great catch-and-go guy, great passer, an underrated passer and he’s always in the right spot defensively. He’s a great addition for us.”
