If the Sir Lance A Lot video wasn’t enough to convince you to put in a NBA All-Star ballot for Lance Stephenson then maybe his crazy highlights and career high 28 points last night in the Pacers blowout win over the Knicks will convince you.
The NBA leader in triple doubles and leader of the team with the league’s best record made 10 of 17 shots and dished out 4 assists, including a couple spectacular ones, in front of many of his hometown friends. The performance drew a lot of rave reviews including one from Coach Frank Vogel.
“Stephenson is getting better and better. He’s efficient making the right basketball plays. If he’s flashy, he’s being flashy making basketball plays. One of our assistants said, ‘boy I wish I had Lance’s energy every day.’ His competitive spirit is as high as anyone we’ve coached.”
Stephenson’s teammates Roy Hibbert and Paul George will most likely be in the NBA All-Star game but if Lance keeps playing this way in the weak Eastern Conference, he should be joining them in New Orleans next month.
