Lance Stephenson wasn’t able to celebrate the final seconds of the Pacers victory over the Heat on Wednesday night because he was ejected midway through the 4th after receiving his 2nd technical for “taunting” DWade after a made basket. Wade just laughed at the pissed off looking Stephenson.
“I don’t really play those games,” said Wade. “The refs took care of it.”
One person who wasn’t laughing was Coach Frank Vogel who said he had a “stern talk” with Lance after the game.
“Lance can’t get himself kicked out of a game, he’s too important to us,” Vogel said, according to the Star. “Can’t let it happen. Period.”
Stephenson also commented about his actions afterwards.
“I’m a very emotional player,” Stephenson said afterwards, according to the Indianapolis Star. “I play aggressively. I let my teammates down by doing that. I was wrong.”
