You knew this was coming. After hearing Nike’s sports marketing director of basketball George Raveling call LaVar Ball “the worst thing to happen to basketball in 100 years,” Ball took to his new Instagram account and responded to the exagerrated comment while cooking some BBQ chicken.
“Everybody been in the darkness for a 100 years. Do you know how this bothers me? Not at all!
Let me tell you something. I know I’m on the right step, cause if nothing like this happened in 100 years, guess what? We in a new lane, baby! That Big Baller Brand about to be your competition.”
Ball also took a personal shot at Raveling by saying he was “the worst best man” by going to someone’s wedding and then stabbing him in the back. I’m assuming that someone is Sonny “Sole Man” Vaccaro, who signed Michael Jordan to his first shoe deal at Nike, brought Kobe to Adidas and played a big part in the landmark O’Bannon vs NCAA lawsuit.
