Golden State Warriors fans and/or players watching the Cavs preseason game (I know, I’m pretty sure no faithful members of Dub Nation bothered watching a preseason game between the Cavs and Wizards) on Tuesday probably had some Vietnam war-like flashbacks during the opening minutes of the game when LeBron James slapped Kelly Oubre’s layup attempt against the glass.
If for some reason, you have already blocked the image out of your head. Here is LeBron’s epic Game 7 block on Andre Iguodala a few more times.
And a breakdown of the block by the Sports Science crew.
One current Golden State Warrior unaffected by watching this is Kevin Durant. I was with KD the day after GM7 (for his KD9 shoe launch in Austin) and he raved about the play, saying LeBron looked like Batman flying in there for the block.
Back to the game, the Cavs actually lost even though they played their regular season starting line-up, with JR Smith, and key bench guys like Channing Frye, Richard Jefferson, Iman Shumpert and Mike Dunleavy. The Wizards got 17/5/4 from John Wall, 19 points on 7 of 8 shooting from Andrew Nicholson and just 6 points (1-6 fg) from Kelly Oubre Jr., who didn’t have much better luck guarding LeBron.
