After former Knick Charles Oakley was thrown out of MSG and arrested on Wednesday night for his scuffle with security during the middle of the Knicks loss to the Clippers, LeBron James posted a throwback pic of Oakley with the caption “Mood!! #Legend”
Between LeBron’s beef with Phil Jackson over the overblown “posse” comments, Phil’s recent comments about LeBron’s friend Carmelo Anthony and LeBron’s beef with Charles Barkley — who is hated and once slapped by Oakley — it’s understandable why LeBron probably felt some joy watching the footage of Oakley reportedly going after Knicks owner and nemesis James Dolan.
According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, Oakley was telling Phil Jackson, “Dolan did this” while Jackson was trying to calm him down. Although, Oakley later told the New York Daily News he wasn’t going for Dolan.
“I was there for four minutes. I didn’t say anything to him. I swear on my mother,” he said. “They came over and wanted to know why I was sitting there. I bought the ticket. I said why do you guys keep staring at me. Then they asked me to leave. And I said I’m not leaving.”
“Not leaving” is something the Knicks should be happy to hear.
