After game 1, LeBron said “You don’t let me get 40, I got 40.”

After game 2, LeBron could say “You don’t let me get multiple NBA finals records in a win, I get records and the win.”

The King put up a monster triple double of 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists in 50 minutes during the Cavs’ first NBA Finals win in franchise history on Sunday. The triple double – his 5th career NBA Finals one – puts him 3 behind Magic Johnson for most career triple doubles in NBA Finals history. The line also put him in a group with Magic’s teammate James Worthy as the only players in history to put up a 35/15/10 game during the NBA Finals. Subtract 5 rebounds and  LeBron is 2nd to only the great Oscar Robertson for most 30/10/10 games in playoffs history.

James was also just 1 point away from joining Shaq with back-to-back 40 point games in games 1 and 2 of the finals.

He also unofficially set the record for most complaints to a ref in a Finals game but when you are getting screwed like this in OT….

and have one of the greatest Finals performances ever, you deserve to the right to set that record.
