OSU Gives LeBron James a Locker to Say Thanks
LeBron probably entertained the thought of going to college a few times but after his freshman year of high school I seriously doubt he was really considering going to one of the six schools that was on his list: Cal, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, North Carolina and Duke. With that said, 10 years after what would be his freshman year at Ohio State University, LeBron now has a locker with his name and the number 6 (6-9 can’t be used in a college basketball game) on it. The locker was added during the $19 million expansion and renovation of the Buckeyes practice facility.
LeBron has had a close relationship with the team for years and 6 years ago OSU became the first school to wear his Nike gear. I’m guessing this nice gesture from the University will allow OSU a lot more free Nike gear in the future.
“We always want to pay our respects to him for what he did for us in ’07 in terms of we were the first LeBron school. And obviously we get tremendous product from him, and I know he’s very proud of what he does for us,” OSU coach Thad Matta said.
