LeBron James and the Miami Heat closed out Game 5 and the series vs the Nets with a 13-3 run capped off with a 3 pointer by Ray Allen with 32 seconds left in the game. The 3 gave the Heat, who were down by 8 with 5 minutes left, their first lead since the first half.
“It’s always been like that for us,” James said. “It’s never easy. It’s never easy for us.”
One person that made things really hard on James and the Heat in Game 5 was Joe Johnson who scored a game-high 34 points, including 6 for 6 from the field with LeBron guarding him in the first 3 quarters. But during the Heat’s late rally they also shut down Johnson and prevented him from getting a final shot off on the game’s final play.
“For us, it was just about getting stops,” Wade said. “We knew offensively that we needed to execute, but we knew we weren’t going to win the game unless we got some stops.”
The Heat will advance to their 4th staright conference finals since the birth of “The Big 3” and will take on the winner of the Wizards and Pacers series
