Here’s LeBron James knocking down a few three-pointers — 25 of 30 to be exact– during practice before Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Before you say anything like he and the Cavs need to do this in a game, James was 4 of 7 from three in Game 1 and the Cavs were 19-41 (46.3%), which was a lot better than the Warriors 11 of 31 (36.7%). Outside shooting was the least of the Cavs problems in Game 1 and wont be the answer to winning Game 2.
And if for whatever reason you do have some criticism for James, here’s what he said after practice.
“I really don’t hear the noise. I couldn’t really care less. It really doesn’t matter to me, I’m just here to play ball for a championship. The narrative and people writing articles and things like that, I don’t care. Those things doesn’t bother me. So it’s hard for me to even tell my teammates, hey, don’t listen to it, because I don’t even get involved in it. I stopped caring a long time ago, so it doesn’t even bother me at all.”
My favorite quote from the media Q&A session was LeBron talking about his mental and physical motor and saying he needs to go to the gym first thing in the morning the way people need a cup of coffee or read a newspaper.
“That’s who I am. The first thing I do when I wake up is go to the gym. No matter if I’m at home or on the road. It’s just part of my DNA.”
