While watching LeBron’s “everything” post game 2 interview, I couldn’t help but think of that scene in Dark Knight Rises when Anne Hathaway says “you’ve given them everything” and then Christian Bale responds (still using that silly Batman voice even though she knows he’s Bruce Wayne) “not everything.”
In Game 3, the King showed there was more to give as he put up 40 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks in another win for Cleveland.
“I’m so outside the box right now,”said LeBron after the game.
Resting only 12 of the 154 possible minutes so far in the series, his 40 points gives him a total of 123 after 3 games which is 1 more than Rick Barry’s Finals record for most points in the first 3 games of the NBA Finals. Along with his Robin, he and Delly scored or assisted on 78 of the 96 total Cavs points.
“I’m just trying to do whatever it takes to help our team win,” he said. “It’s the Finals, and it’s whatever it takes. This is a totally different challenge.”
After the game Doris asked LeBron if he was willing to share his “secret motivation.” He wouldn’t but whatever it is, it’s working.
