Before Monday’s game against the Pelicans, LeBron made an apology for his lack of dunks so far this season.
“I apologize I haven’t been above the rim, but I’m in the lineup,” James said with a smile. “Whatever it takes to help us win.”
What it took to get the win over early MVP candidate Anthony Davis, who once again dominated with 27 & 14, was some monster dunks, a monster triple double of 32, 12 & 10 and a monster game from his “bad habit” making teammate Kyrie Irving who dropped 27 of his 32 points in the 2nd half.
“Hey, that guy No. 23 was pretty good tonight,” Coach Blatt said. “It’s easy to overlook that guy. He grabbed the game. He understood the moment.”
As good as James was, he didn’t feel like he was as good as he could get yet.
“I’m not there yet,” James said. “I have a couple more kinks I need to work out, but I feel I’m in the right place right now and I’ve made some progress.”
I wonder if the kinks are parts of his game or human parts on his team? Anyways, Love was in the air after the game – literally.
