The Splash Brothers aren’t really brothers, even though Roy Hibbert might confuse the light skinned teammates for each other , but Steph Curry and Klay Thompson both have their own ex NBA Dads – Dell Curry and Mychal Thompson. To help Roy get familiar with the two, the NBA put together this nice Father and Son feature on the ex Players and their Warrior sons currently making a big splash in the NBA playoffs.
My first memory of Del and Steph was back in 1996 at my FSU (C’mon Andrew Wiggins) dorm room where I was watching the Tuesday night game on TNT between the Hornets and Bucks (The Big Dog!) and right before a commercial break they were showing little Steph Curry on the court dribbling and making jump shots and I joked with my roomate that this kid is going to be in the league one day. My roomate laughed but it’s not like I said one day this kid would be setting NBA records and be one of the premier players in the league.
Since I’m going back to those old days, here’s a funny Del Curry clip I capped from back then. Probably the only “poster” Del ever had even if he didn’t know about the defender.
